From Service to Energy: Helping Canadian Military Members Consider Their Next Career in Energy
- 1 min read
On June 17, 2026, Careers in Energy (CIE) attended the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Transition Expo in Edmonton at the Edmonton Garrison Base. Hosted by the Canadian Armed Forces Transition Group (CAF TG), the expo offers military members and veterans opportunities to connect and receive guidance during their transition to civilian employment in their next career stage.
“The energy sector offers a wide range of career paths that align with the skills military members already possess. CIE is proud to help them explore opportunities for their next career.”
Anna Kottsova, Outreach Coordinator, Careers in Energy
Throughout the day, we engaged with military members and their families who were interested in learning more about Canada’s dynamic energy sector and the diverse career pathways available. From skilled trades to technology, attendees expressed interest in a wide range of careers within the energy industry.
CAF members bring valuable leadership, technical expertise, adaptability, and a strong commitment to safety, which are highly sought after by energy employers.
“We are deeply appreciative of the dedication and commitment of our military service members, and now it’s our opportunity to give back and support them in their transition to a career in energy.”
Kelly Johnson, Program Manager, Careers in Energy
CIE is proud to raise awareness of opportunities in Canada’s energy industry and to support military members as they transition to civilian careers. We hope members of the CAF will consider their next career in energy.
